Royal Lake, despite showing glimmers of ability, has been a largely disappointing horse on a racecourse even though he works nicely at home. He had a wind procedure before his most recent race yet he still ran poorly, so we checked him for ulcers and we found them and treated him. The treatment doesn’t always make any difference, it’s just a case of covering all bases to get him to show us on a racecourse what he does at home.
