By Shantou (the sire of multiple Grade 1 winners including The Storyteller and Death Duty), out of a winner on the flat and over jumps by Monsun. Roger Pol is a brother to the Grade 1-placed and 3m hurdle winner Minella Crooner, and a half-brother to the seven-time winner, Adrrastos (who we used to train) and the black-type winning, L'Aigle Royale. Roger Pol was 2nd on his first and only start to date in an Irish Point-to-Point where he only went down narrowly. He looks smart enough to win a bumper in this autumn, whilst he will develop into a capable hurdler this coming season. This looks a hot contest, but he should run well.
