Jessie Lightfoot won nicely at Taunton last month on her first run back since rejoining us. She ran another decent race when 3rd at Ffos Las a week ago, losing her position then rallying. In good form, so one to consider again.

Spartan Warrior won here last time and I'm confident he'll handle the extra two furlongs. His mark went up 5lb and he gets a 6lb penalty so we're 1lb worse in but I'm not worried about that. It's not the greatest of races and the bit of rain they had overnight will only help him.…

The Wizard Of Eye is a new recruit to the yard so this is very much a fact-finding mission. He has loads of speed and my biggest concern is that the seven furlongs might be too far for him today. The ground and draw look perfect.

Kotari has switched back to the flat over the past month to great effect. Initially a narrow winner at Windsor, he improved greatly on that at Salisbury on Sunday. It was sensible to carry the penalty as he's still in great form and we can expect quite a hike in his mark in next Tuesday's…

Tapley has been running consistently well of late and this track and trip just short of two miles is right up his street. The ground is fine and he has a good weight, so we're hopeful of another nice run in a competitive race where most are running to form.

Cellar Club stars handicapping on a modest mark of 80. He's had a wind-op since his latest run seven months ago and with the team in good form, he must have a small each-way chance.

Grand Duchess Olga has had a break after a busy winter. She has done very well for it and has been working nicely. Sam takes off a handy 7lb and there shouldn't be much between her and Smokey. They'll be vying for a place and both have each-way claims.

Apart from a single and pretty good 3rd at Chelmsford last September, Voodoo Ray has been here for his other last ten races since late 2022. He returned to action nine days ago with a narrow win and from only 2lb higher he surely will be tough to beat today.

Yarborough was given his three qualifying runs in decent maidens and while unplaced in his first handicap, we always thought he would be a better 3yo. In this 0-58, he has a chance to show that there is indeed plenty more to come from him.

Can't Beat History was a wide-margin winner around here on his last run in October. Kept away from the bad ground of midwinter, he resumes on a 9lb higher mark, but there's no reason why having won two of five chases, he shouldn't continue to improve. Hopeful.

Monkey Miss has run reasonably well from poor draws on her two starts this year. She has enough ability to win a race of this nature if things fall right.

Love You Darling is a nice filly and she seems to have matured and strengthened from last year. She is fit enough for her first run back and we think she will handle the ground. Hopefully, she can put up a good run.

Havaila makes a debut for us today having been jumping most recently. He has placed form on the flat and the ground will not be a problem. More likely though the opposition on these terms might be a shade too strong.

Vadream ran a cracker on her seasonal debut at Bath and the winner has already gone out and franked the form. We got plenty of rain yesterday although it won't be bottomless as it was last year when she won this race. She seems in great order and loves Newmarket.

Gogo Yubari has been improving all through the winter and is now on a hat-trick. Up a total of 6lb for the last two wins, she's been flying at home and I have to be confident.

Heer's Sadie goes well at Brighton. She just needed her first run of the season and will come on for that. Also, she's been dropped a pound and will appreciate any rain.  Should have an each-way chance.
