La Marquise is by an exciting young French sire Beaumec De Houelle, a son of the great Martaline. She looked well above average when winning on debut at Stratford in November on soft ground. She then disappointed in the Listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day when the only female in the race, but now in calmer waters against her own sex, she can defy her penalty. We think she is smart and has a very bright future.
