Maclaine has been a work in progress. A huge horse who had looked weak and immature previously, he has now filled his frame and strengthened. A fast-finishing fourth after initially looking no threat in his bumper, he then went hurdling and knocked the first flight over on debut. Back to basics next time he finished third and now after a good break he should be ready to show what he can do. Hopeful.
