Royal Lake hasn’t exactly set the world alight in his two runs so far, he’ll probably fare better once he’s handicapped and I intend to send him straight over fences after this. He looks as if he’d make a better chaser but he would have to show improved form in his next few races or he’ll be off to the sales in May along with any other horses owned by the late Trevor Hemmings that haven’t made the grade. He is a kind horse to deal with, he’s good to ride, he generally jumps well and he’s a very straightforward person in all aspects.
