Soldier of Destiny was beaten 5 lengths on his debut in an Irish point behind the subsequent Grade 1 performer Gentlemansgame, and he was then 2nd in a bumper, and 4th in a Punchestown novice hurdle. He was a disappointing 4th on hurdling debut in this country, but ran better when 5th on chasing debut. He looked to show improved form on his first start after a wind op, and on handicap debut when bolting up at Ffos Las on handicap debut. He probably ran to a similar level of form next time out when 3rd at Newbury but didn't look to stay 3m. Dropping in trip here should suit, and he's got heaps of potential. Exciting.
