Coastguard Station has been in great form since coming back after a midwinter break, with two 2nd places either side of a win at Fakenham. He was caught late last time at Kelso and looks on a dangerous mark in this valuable contest.

Two fillies in this. Glamis Road has the greater ability on what we've seen at home but whether she can show it on the racecourse first time is always the question. Our two have the Ralph Beckett horse to beat.

Idyllic ran a screamer last time out upped in trip at Wolverhampton. Dropped in that day, she made great late headway only to come up short against a filly that won again yesterday. A repeat of that will see her go close today.

Wannabeawallaby is our best chance of a winner today. He's in good form and I expect him to go close. He'll like the distance but would probably like the ground to be a bit softer, but then most of the opposition will too.

Secret Beach did much better with the tongue-tie on at Goodwood. It will be different ground at Newmarket but he is maturing with time and experience so should handle it.

Mulciber is our best chance on the day. A winner here two runs back for Marco Botti, he followed that with a 2nd at Southwell. This is his debut for the enthusiastic Pompey Ventures team and it would be great to start off with a winner for them.

Desfondado won readily over this trip a couple of starts ago and reunites with the winning rider here. He has run well at this track before and it would be no surprise to see him involved if they go a good gallop and he settles well. Seems in great shape.

Tronido won readily on her handicap debut and is up 9lb for that. Conditions are different tonight and she has to prove her effectiveness this way around but it will be interesting to see if she has progressed. She can be excitable but took it all very well last time and this could easily be…

Luther is a lovely two-year-old that has worked well recently. Like all of mine he will improve for his debut but I have been pleased with his work and we are expecting a decent run. He should have no issues with the ground.

Clear Justice had some okay form around here last year and wasn't beaten all that far at Lingfield, despite finishing 7th. His light weight might bring him into the argument.

Lucky's Dream was 2nd in this race last year. He ran well on his recent comeback over a trip he found a little sharp. He should enjoy the ground at a trip and track he's shown suit him and from a slightly lower mark. Good each-way shout.

Rockymountainway ran great last time on very testing ground and looked as though a step up in trip would suit. The 7f today should be ideal and she will have no issue with the ground. She can go close.

Stapleford Park made a nice debut at a track that wouldn't really suit mine first time out. I thought he showed a great attitude that day and ran all the way to the line. He will definitely improve for the run and any cut in the ground is a bonus.

Corporate Raider came back to form on his last run here but went up by the same amount as the winner - 5lb, which seems harsh for not winning. At least we now know he handles the track! Upped in trip, hopefully he will be thereabouts again.

Although Donnie Azoff won his first three races over fences, I never really thought him a natural chaser. He switched back to the smaller obstacles last season, winning a Class 3 novice under a penalty last summer on this track. Now handicapping after a break, he should run well here today.

Rothay Park ran well last week over 7.5 furlongs at Lingfield, just getting cut up late on while finishing 3rd. This looks a similar race and he's a straightforward, honest horse suited by this level of rider.

God Of Fire is a new horse to us and we're still learning about him. His turf record isn't great but for no obvious reason so hopefully, it's more down to coincidence than his not liking it.

Prague is a 4yo who started out life with Aidan O'Brien for the Coolmore team. He has to concede a lot of weight to the 3yo's on this belated debut so it will be interesting to see how this beautifully-bred colt compares at this stage.

Siempre Arturo is a big raw horse and still learning. Last time was his first run on turf and it showed he is more than capable of winning races like this once he gets the hang of things.
