Profitman did a bit too much too early over 1m at Chelmsford last time. Stepping back to 7f around the sharp Wolverhampton track hopefully will suit him better. He's in good form at home.

Cephalus won impressively over this CD a week ago. Today's race is worth almost five times as much to the winner and it would have been a help if he had been better drawn. In terrific form though and is sure to give his new owner another exciting day out.

Gogo Yubari needed his narrow win at Lingfield a week ago to squeeze in at the bottom of this field. He has a nice draw and if the penalty proves too much, I would still be delighted if he ran in the first four.

Our other runner Andaleep can never be written off. He stays further than today's trip and will be running on in the straight.

Suspicion deserves to be favourite. He seems to be a progressive horse and while he now carries a penalty for his win, I think he should have improved enough again to beat the two that were behind him on debut at Kempton last time. Hopeful.

Laurens Bay was a very promising 2nd in one of the first 4-year-old Irish point-to-points of 2023. He has been given time to mature and strengthen and is another promising recruit to the team. This looks a competitive bumper but our lad should be in the mix.

Abingworth has done himself proud since going over fences, with three 2nd places, and a win from only five starts. A similar performance could bring him home in front.

Justahunch has his first start for us. At this stage, I would say he's limited and needs to drop a few pounds to get in those 0-50 handicaps somewhere like Brighton. If he did win it would reflect more on how well the team is going.

Asgard's Captain should win. He has been flying at home since the last two wins and Rhys got on well with him on first acquaintance last time. The hat-trick beckons.

Coastguard Station disappointed last time but is on a lower mark than when running well last season. This is a weak race for the meeting and he ought to be capable of making the first three.

We run two in this always interesting 4yo handicap hurdle. Royal Way has a 2nd to Sir Gino on his card, followed by two wins at Ludlow, the latter narrowly under a penalty. He'll give it a shot for the hat-trick.

Alpha Crucis just sneaked in at the bottom of the Lincoln field. He has a high draw which is often an advantage, but this is one race where it is unwise to be too dogmatic about that. Anna takes a handy 7lb off and there are certainly worse 20/1 shots in the line-up.

We have done plenty with Zminiture and he knows his job. The Brocklesby usually takes plenty of winning but I expect him to handle the start and also the ground. He'll be ridden off the pace and it's just a case of whether he'll get home in the conditions. Hopeful.

I really like Gogo Yubari in this. She ran well when 4th in a competitive 0-68 last time and this is a 0-60. The thing about Lingfield is that luck in running often comes into it, but we seem to do okay there. Hopeful.

Since coming back from a short break in late December, Cephalus has won three times at a mile, starting at Lingfield, then after a couple of reverses, at Kempton and Southwell. He's 19lb higher than when the run started but is in great form and may well give it another good go.

La Marquise is by an exciting young French sire Beaumec De Houelle, a son of the great Martaline. She looked well above average when winning on debut at Stratford in November on soft ground. She then disappointed in the Listed bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day when the only female in the race,  but…

Double Click won successive races last spring but went through a disappointing spell either side of his summer break. He has the ability to win again and this is pretty low-grade stuff. He handles soft ground and 2m seems to be his trip so he's not wiithout an each-way chance if things fall his way.

Golden Maverick was rated 83  on the flat after winning five times at up to 1m2f. He has taken well to jumping but was very green on debut, albeit 2nd to a promising individual. Next time, he got a fair bit back in the pack and although he stayed on strongly, he couldn't get to…

Iconic Muddle, though an 11yo, shows no signs of reduced ability. He has been runner-up in all three starts this season and may well enjoy dropping back from 3m to 2m4f today. The one to beat.

Longhouse L:egacy is a slow burner but he is progressing and ran an improved race last time. I think he has taken a step forward in his work at home since then and is in good form. He sets a fair standard.
