Doc McCoy was a deeply impressive winner of a maiden point-to-point on his debut and was placed in all three bumpers last season. He jumps well and should be capable of running well here on his hurdling debut.

Grand Duchess Olga has taken well to Chelmsford. She looks as though a step up in trip will suit her as she needed all of the 1m6f when she won here two runs back. Only 1lb higher tonight, she looks to hold a favourite's chance.

Martin Plage is a lovely horse who definitely has an engine and he's as fit as a flea. I targeted this bumper for him a while ago, but he did have a small setback early last week. Hopefully, he will be ready for this.

Summer Night City ran a shocking first race, jumping as though she had never seen an obstacle whereas she had been intensively schooled beforehand. We've redoubled her work and jumping in the interim and if she doesn't go close in this company we will be in trouble!

Brechin Castle was an odds-on shot on his opening run for master Irish point-to-point trainer Colin Bowe back in February and won nicely. We picked him up at Cheltenham sales later that month and we think he's a nice horse with plenty of potential. Hopeful of a big run on bumper debut today.

Magic Memories may still be a maiden after five starts but twice in the last three runs - both at Windsor - he's been close to the winners, finishing in the money. It will only need a small progression to break that duck and this looks a decent opportunity.

Decisive Call switched from Roger Teal in late summer and ran an excellent first race when 2nd around here last month. He couldn't match that run at Windsor last time, so questions remain about this five-times-raced maiden.

Roman Tempest is a brother to Ectocross who has done well for us on soft ground this season. He should be suited by the conditions and it would be no surprise to see him involved if things go smoothly for him.

Big Jimbo was running well early in the year, winning here and then after a break, also won one of three races around Bath. He returns to Kempton on a fair mark and I wouldn't be surprised if he went close as he's fresh and well after his latest eight-week break.

My Chiquita has come out of Sedgefield in good order. This could be her last chance to run before the ground goes. She is nicely weighted and can only have benefited from that debut over hurdles. She should give another solid account.

Can't Beat History has been running consistently apart from one unseated rider -since switching to fences. This is his grade and he should be competitive once more. Hopeful.

Clearpoint has been handed a draw in the car park which is annoying. He was disappointing at Haydock but we think he hated the soft ground. His work on the all-weather has been good so if he can overcome his draw he should run well.

Evening Story ran a solid race stepped up in trip last time. She goes up another furlong which should be fine for her as she finished well. It wasn't the difference between winning the race and 5th but she was slightly disadvantaged by ending up quite far back early on that day. It's her last…

Yajooz improved from his debut to run much better at Kempton last time. I think Yarmouth's straight 7f will suit him better and although I have no idea what he will think of soft ground, my inclination is that he will enjoy it. He can take another step forward.

We run two in this trappy finale. Alpha Crucis won first time this year on soft ground at Windsor and has been off since June. He will enjoy the surface and hopefully, will be sharp enough after his break.

Silver Sword was far from disgraced first time in Listed company at Sandown, staying on nicely into 5th after getting slowly away. It's another grade higher again for this Group 3 and while the soft ground is not ideal he's a progressive horse and should run a nice race again.
