Cruise has decent form on all-weather and has won over 6f, but she has plenty of speed and this stiff 5f should be made for her. We still think she is well enough handicapped and go all the way up there with a degree of confidence.

I Still Have Faith ran well when runner-up at Haydock where he was possibly a little unlucky not to win. Leicester will suit him and he's in cracking form. Hopeful.

Lovely Darling lives up to her name as she is a lovely filly. She will improve for the experience and while I think 7f is her distance, her weight allowance and the uphill finish will give her a better chance. We will learn a lot about her here.

Shuwari is a nice filly by New Bay making her debut. Although only five runners, there's a winner and two others that have been placed on their single runs. Shuwari has done some nice work and it will be good to get a guide on where she sits against these in a race that will…

Voodoo Ray ran his best race to date when 2nd on his final start of 2022 at Brighton. He needed the run when reappearing here recently and should be fitter this time.

Stormingin goes well for an inexperienced rider. He's a 10yo who did well at this sort of level earlier in the year and now returns after a short break. Looks to have a bit to find on recent performances.  

Cast A Spell had a couple of runs in Irish mares' bumpers and considering she was an 80/1 shot, she didn't finish far behind in a race the Willie Mullins favourite didn't win! She has a Peter Bowen mare who was 2nd at Ffos Las to beat but we are hoping for a good run.

I'm still utterly frustrated about missing the Golden Gates at Ascot yesterday which went off with just 15 runners when it could easily accommodate 20 in which case Silver Sword would have got in. Andaleep hasn't run very often at a mile-and-a-half but has won over the distance. He is a previous course winner and should run another solid race.

Art De Vivre ran respectably on debut and seems to have taken a good deal from that first racecourse experience. The stretch to 14 furlongs should suit her well and she can take another nice step forward.

El Jasor is another that has been improving nicely of late. I think the ten furlongs around Redcar will fit well for him and he too should love the ground. He is capable of winning off his present mark.

Arbennig came back from a break with two similar performances in a couple of 2m handicap chases recently. A run to the same level would put him in with a chance in this modest contest off his low handicap mark.

I've said before Mr Fayez isn't the most reliable but he battled on into 2nd at Brighton, unable to do much when Bernard Spearpoint went clear and that horse followed up readily at Yarmouth. Should make the frame, but do not put your life savings on him!

Cloudbreaker is able to run 4lb well in today as her handicap mark is due to go up on Saturday. She looks a picture and is improving all the time but stall 20 of 20 makes life very tough.

Teeceethree is out of a four-time winning mare we trained when we started out. Don't Tell Claire has been a real fun filly that has given us lots of great days out and has won five races. This is maybe a tough ask, especially from the draw, but she was beaten only 4.5 lengths in this race last year when she got very little luck in running.

It's How We Roll ran easily his best race since joining us when 3rd at Brighton behind a short-priced favourite. He could again have each-way potential tonight.

Moondial has been consistent this season and this looks a nice opportunity, with the caveat that these hands and heels races are for very inexperienced jockeys. Alex Jary is one of the most experienced riders in the field.

We're taking the opportunity to try to get another win next to My Chiquita's name. Sean is taking 7lb off, more than compensating for the 4lb rise for the Nottingham win last time. She's come out of the race very well and she should be hard to beat.
