Deceiver is just about ready to start his season having been gelded over the winter. He has plenty of potential and should run a nice race and build on it going forward.

While Justcallmepete's golden run came around the turn of the year, Masqool's was in the late summer/autumn. He hasn't quite managed to follow through with it yet in 2023 but his close 3rd to promising Southwold at Southwell two runs back shows another success might not be long delayed. Each-way chances.

Artician will have got his confidence from finally winning a handicap last time and though he is arguably not as effective at this track, he still has some fair form here. A wide draw is no help but is at least he is in good shape and cannot be discounted in this better race.

Invincible Nao had fair form in France but after four runs here his mark has dropped in 5lb intervals from 127 to 112. He looks a big price here given the old form and could run into a place at these generous odds.

Once headstrong, Tenford has become progressively more amenable and was only just denied after going hammer and tongs with Tapley through the last two furlongs at Plumpton. Deserves to gain a first win in this maiden hurdle.

Recuerdame is a regular here and he has been having a good winter. He does stay this far but has not won over this distance for some time. He needs a good gallop but is a strong finisher and again it will be no surprise if he gets involved in this.

Havanella ran a much better race when 4th last time out at Lingfield, when she travelled nicely through the race and her jumping was good. More importantly, she came back from that run full of confidence and her whole demeanour has been different since that race. She should enjoy this track as she’s a thorough…

As Coast's last three form figures suggest - 999 - it's maybe time to call for emergency services. In a word, her recent form is awful and while she did win twice over CD last year, that seems oh so long ago.

We took advantage of a series of 0-50 Classifieds in our region to complete a quick four-timer with Sausolito. His new mark of 62 looks fair enough in the circumstances and we hope he can cope with it against better-class opposition.

We run two in this and both Galop Du Bosc and Jean Genie have conditions in their favour but need to bounce back to be competitive. Galop Du Bosc is a CD winner here but top-weight in a wide-open race will not be easily carried on anything less than his best.

Hermino was only just outpointed on the run-in last time at Sandown, as the first two drew a distance clear on his first handicap start. He's up 6lb for that today but with trip and ground both similar to then, that should not stop him.

Generous Day was running well until finding better class opposition too strong at Kempton last month. Although now firmly in the veteran stage, he must have a fair chance of going very close in this four-runner line-up.

In The Air followed a win in France with a debut success in the UK at Newbury just over a year ago. He's not shown us much since but after a midwinter break, hopefully he can begin a revival from today in what looks a workable contest.
