trainers quotes

"Roman De Brut has been very consistent over the winter - however, he is stepping up in grade today to a 0-75, which means he is running off bottom weight and also has Charlie Bennetts 5lb claim to help. Gossiping won very easily last time out though and looked like even with an 8lb rise he is probably still going to be hard to beat, but we are a good each-way place and are hopeful that we can still get involved. "
Mark Loughnane

23/01/17 2nd 10/1

"Fayette County - Had a few months off after a great race at Cheltenham at their November meeting. Seems better for the break and returns on the same mark and in the same grade. The horses are going well at the moment so every chance of going well. Looks a trappy race with several chances, but soft ground and trip fine so no reason why he won't run his race and not be far away and, if pushed, one of my better chances on the day."
Tim Vaughan

23/01/17 2nd 11/2

"Dinsdale: Has improved with every run - this is only his fifth run both on the flat and jumps - still open to lots of improvement, which should see him go close today."
Michael Scudamore

23/01/17 3rd 6/1

"Etaad - Seven Clans is the one to beat, but we think we head here with a fair e/w chance. Poor last time, but better draw and step up in trip are pluses. We'll ride the horse a bit different today to see if that helps too (George Baker in the saddle) - looks decent e/w value over the favourite and would not be shocked to see him run a lot better this time. "
Gary Moore

21/01/17 1st 14/1

"Fields Of Glory - Might have liked a bit more cut, but will be fine. Still a bit to learn over fences as this is only his 4th career outing over the bigger obstacles, but a horse that is capable of going well in a race like this and Richard Johnson has won on him before too. Looks one of my better chances on the day and hoping for a big run."
Tim Vaughan

20/01/17 1st 4/1

"Hidden Identity - A useful mare in her day and was actually 4th in the Mares race at the Cheltenham Festival in 2014 - just 4 1/2 lengths behind Quevega. Rather lost her way since and had a few issues, but returned wth a decent third at Lingfield last month to show us she's still got some abilty. We are CD winner here too and certainly well-handicapped on old form, but at 11 years-old not getting any younger. Might find some younger legs too good, but heads here fit and well so not with an e/w shout as seems in a good place with herself at home."
Tim Vaughan

20/01/17 3rd 12/1

"Tanit River - Decent little race and we've got a fair chance too. We probably ran him a bit too soon last time when below-par at Ffos Las. Won very well the time before and back over fences here at a course he's won at helps. Had a few months off to get over that last race and has gone well fresh in the past. Progressive sort and seems back to his best at home. Trip and ground fine too so we are hoping the break has done him good. Up in grade will be harder for him, while Battle Of Shiloh and Robinsfirth are the obvious ones, but we look to have an e/w chance around 20/1."
Tim Vaughan

20/01/17 1st 16/1

"Socialites Red: Down to a handy mark - drawn fine too and has come on well for that last run. Each-way shout."
Scott Dixon

19/01/17 3rd 8/1

"Ramblow - The Ralph Beckett-trained Warm Words looks the call here. Our runner is only having her second run for us (former William Haggas horse), and needs to improve on her last run when well down the field here. That said, this drop back to a mile will certainly help as got tired that day over 1m3f, plus that was her first run for 2 1/2 months. We try the cheekpieces for the first time too so expecting a lot better, but might be a tall order to win with others in better looking form."
Mick Appleby

19/01/17 2nd 25/1

"Twenty Eight Guns: A good winner last time out at Bangor - her best yet - and after a month off has come out of that race well. She loves soft ground and jumps and stays well. Has gone up a big-looking 11lbs for that recent win, which looks harsh but if all well should not be too far away."

“I enjoy reading the e-mails each day and getting the trainers thoughts.  I have been keeping my punting to the 4 & 5* advices for now. Today I read the thoughts of Jamie Snowden on Lucy's Girl - but then looked at the race - rank outsider of 4 runners - never have picked that myself in a month of Sundays - but the trainer was confident so put on a tenner at BFSP - happy days with a return of 36/1. The fee is a small price to pay for such inside info”. Ian S
